Mumbai-Pune Expressway Traffic Update: Yashwantrao Chavan Highway To Remain Closed For 3 Hours On April 23-24; Check Timings and Diversions
The Mumbai–Pune Expressway, officially named Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway, will be temporarily closed for a few hours today, April 23 and tomorrow, April 24, due to ongoing work.
According to the administration, traffic towards Mumbai will be completely closed on Thursday, April 23, from 12 pm to 3 pm. During this period, all vehicles will be diverted via National Highway 48 (NH-48) through Kivale, Dehu Road and Talegaon, rejoining at Kusgaon Toll Plaza. Authorities have warned of possible congestion on this route.

Similarly, traffic towards Pune will remain closed on Friday, April 24, from 12 pm to 3 pm. Vehicles will be diverted via NH-48 through Kusgaon Toll Plaza, Dehu Road and Kivale. Officials said the closures are necessary to carry out shuttering and painting work on the bridge safely. Commuters have been advised to plan their travel in advance and use alternative routes.
Authorities added that while the temporary closure may cause inconvenience, the work is essential for long-term safety and maintenance of the expressway.
