Mumbai's suburban areas Borivali, Kandivali, Dahisar, Malad and Andheri have emerged as a new coronavirus hotspot in the metropolitan city, while the rate of infections in Dharavi and Worli have slowed down.

In Borivali, Kandivali, Dahisar, Malad and Andheri, COVID-19 cases are on the rise

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) with the help of the police is taking all the necessary measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus. 

Lockdown measures and restrictions in the movement of people are being ensured in these areas. In Borivali, the number of coronavirus patients is increasing on a daily basis while maximum cases have been reported from Malad.

As per the data released by the BMC, as of August 16, the number of COVID-19 cases has reached 7,749 in Malad followed by 3,272 COVID-19 cases in Dahisar, 6,675 in Borivali and 6,043 in Kandivali. 

Maharashtra is the worst-coronavirus affected state in the country where COVID-19 cases have now touched more the six lakh-mark while Mumbai reported 1,29,479 and the death toll remains at 7,173.
