Pune: Elder Brother Stabs Younger Brother, Attempts to Stage Death as Suicide; Arrested

A tragic incident has been uncovered in the Charholi Khurd area of Pimpri-Chinchwad, where an elder brother allegedly murdered his younger brother by stabbing him with a sharp weapon and attempted to deceive the police by making it look like a suicide, destroying evidence in the process. The victim, identified as Huzur Mahmud Sayyid (32), lost his life in Charholi Khurd on Sunday night, around midnight. The accused have been arrested by the police, with Assistant Police Inspector A.P. Lohar complaining at the Alandi police station.

A case has been filed under sections 302, 201, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Hujur's wife, Madina Hujur Syed (28, residing in Thorve Vasti Charholi Khu., native of M.P. Masala Khu., Tuljapur, Dist. Dharashiv), and his elder brother, Feroze Mahmud Syed (38, residing in Tuljapur, District Dharashiv).

As per the police report, API A.P. Lohar was informed about a suicide in Thorve Wasti at Charholi Khurd. Upon arriving at the scene, the deceased's wife informed the authorities that her husband had taken his own life by stabbing himself.

The police conducted a panchnama at the crime scene and initiated an investigation. The primary probe and the stab marks on the body of the deceased indicated that the deceased was stabbed with a sharp weapon. Further investigations revealed that the accused Madina tried to destroy the evidence by wiping the blood from the crime scene and disposed of the murder weapon. While the police have arrested the accused the preliminary investigation suggests that the crime was committed due to a family dispute between the brothers. Further investigation is underway.
