The coronavirus situation in Kalyan-Dombivali municipal area is getting worse day by day as atleast 4-5 deaths are being reported everyday. A father-son doctor duo from Kalyan died due to covid on Friday.

From the start of the pandemic the father-son doctor duo kept their clinics open and were treating patients during tough times. In particular, due to non-availability of ventilator beds in KDMC limits, citizens have to travel to other cities for beds.

The deceased have been identified as Nagendra Mishra (58) and Suraj Mishra (28). The Mishra family lives in the Gandhari area in Kalyan west. Nagendra had a clinic in Khadavali area near Titwala and Suraj had a clinic in Bapgaon area near Bhiwandi.

All the members of the Mishra family are suffering from covid disease and are undergoing treatment at hospitals in different municipal limits. As there is no ventilator bed left in Kalyan Dombivali, Nagendra was undergoing treatment at Thane and Suraj at a private hospital in Goregaon.

Nagendra's wife is undergoing treatment at Vasai Virar. Meanwhile, the incident is tragic as both the deaths occurred outside the KDMC limits, but we do not have information regarding this, said the municipal administration.

It is being said that Nagendra Mishra died on his birthday that was on Friday. Suraj got married in November 2020 and was immediately infected with the virus.

Last year, four doctors had to lose their lives in Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation.
