Mumbai Police is investigating the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case. With new revelations, twists and turns daily, the case has now turned murkier and the demand for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has gained more strength.
An IPS officer from Bihar, Vinay Tiwari, who landed in Mumbai on Sunday for supervising the probe in the case being conducted by police from that state, was quarantined under the COVID-19 regulations in force in the city.The whole issue has now heated up as and many political leaders and celebrities have jumped into the controversy surrounding the actors death.
Ex CM Devendra Fadnavis's wife Amruta Fadnavis has also commented on the ugly turf war between Mumbai and Bihar police in the investigations in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
In her tweet, Amruta had written that Mumbai Police’s response to the case shows how Mumbai had lost its “humanity” and was “no more safe to live”.
"The manner in which Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case is being handled - I feel Mumbai has lost humanity and is no safer to live - for innocent, self-respecting citizens."
Amruta's tweet got instant reaction from Bollywood actor Renuka Shahane. Renuka replied saying that Amruta’s words were unfair towards the police.
"Please don't politicize Sushant's tragic death & use it to badmouth Mumbai & it's people @fadnavis_amruta Instead you have all the power to help the police in their investigation by providing them with any details that you might be sure of"
When someone commented that there was nothing political about Amruta’s tweet, Renuka wrote, “There is! If she were the CMs wife, she wouldn’t make such a statement about Mumbai, whatever the circumstances. Remember Elphinstone bridge collapsing during @Dev_Fadnavis tenure? Many Mumbaikars died but she did not say anything about Mumbai not being safe or being heartless!”
