Even though I know Mumbai, policing has changed since the days I worked in Mumbai. Sanjay Pandey is a 1986 batch IAS officer. When Pandey was the Director General of Police, he had to step down due to the decision of the High Court. However, the Mahavikas Aghadi government has re-appointed Pandey as DG at the post of Commissioner of Police. Pandey will retire in July and will hold the post of Mumbai Police Commissioner for the next six months.
