Mumbai Shocker: Man Slits Alleged Lover’s Throat in Front of Wife, Arrested Within 3 Hours
A shocking murder case has come to light from the jurisdiction of Aarey Police Station in Mumbai’s Goregaon East, where a man allegedly murdered his wife’s alleged lover in front of her over suspicion of an extramarital affair.
According to police, the accused identified as Bhimraj Omprakash Sharma (48) allegedly invited his wife and the deceased, Vikas Ashok Bhusare, to his residence in Aarey Colony’s Unit No. 5 area. The trio reportedly consumed alcohol together late at night before the incident took a deadly turn.
Police said Bhimraj suspected that his wife and Vikas were in a relationship. The accused had reportedly warned and even assaulted his wife earlier over the matter. Officials revealed that the deceased had previously been accused of harassing the accused’s wife, and despite complaints, he allegedly continued meeting her, which further fueled Bhimraj’s anger.
Senior police officer Ravindra Patil said that during the drinking session, the accused initially tried to warn Vikas and asked him not to visit his house again. However, moments later, he allegedly lost control and attacked Vikas with a knife, slitting his throat repeatedly in front of his wife. Vikas died on the spot due to severe injuries.
After committing the crime, the accused fled towards the Aarey forest area in an attempt to escape Mumbai. Acting swiftly, the police formed three separate teams and launched a manhunt. Within three hours, officers tracked down the accused and arrested him after a chase through the forest area.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to the murder, stating that suspicion over his wife’s alleged relationship with the victim drove him to commit the crime.
Police have registered a murder case against the accused and produced him before the court, which remanded him to police custody for further investigation.
