BJP candidate Navnath Ban has won from ward number 135 of Mumbai's Mankhurd area in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2026. Ban, who serves as the BJP’s media chief and is considered a close aide of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, contested the civic body polls for the first time.
The BJP’s decision to field Ban from Mumbai had drawn attention, as he has often been at the forefront of countering Shiv Sena UBT leader Sanjay Raut. He contested from Ward No 135, a seat that was won by the Shiv Sena in the 2017 BMC elections.
