A video of a vlogger from Finland strolling through Mumbai’s Bandra railway station. In the viral video, he is heard criticising Mumbai and the authorities for not keeping the area clean. The vlogger Joonas Rantala was walking towards the Bandra railway station while he started blogging and said there is so much garbage, and he reminded his viewers that it was not a dumping ground, but it was a railway station in the nation’s wealthiest city. He also saw the huts outside the station and said that he wondered how the houses were built there. He also interacted with the locals there and visited a shop and had a cup of tea.
He said, “There is so much garbage nobody is cleaning it. I wonder why the government doesn’t do anything about it.”
He further added, “When you take a look at the other side of the railway station, you can see that Mumbai’s housing crisis only gets worse the slum hoses gets only taller and taller and smaller and smaller.” Further showing the Mithi Nadi in Bandra he said, “If you take a look at the river here, surprisingly it is absolutely filled with garbage and you can barely see any water. It smells terrible. I wonder if they ever clean it.”
Further, he asked if the government cleans the area to a few children while interacting and they replied that no one cleans the garbage. He then asked why no one cleans it? To which a passerby is heard saying, “Yaha ki government kharab hi hai. (The government here is not responsible.)”
In the video, after taking a tour of the whole place, he is heard saying, “Would you believe this place is real? If you would have not seen anything likethis from your own eyes. I would’t I have not seen anything like this with my own eyes. This is not a random place million miles away from the city centre or poor city, nothing like that. This is Mumbai. This is the nation’s wealthiest city. This city has the most billionaires living here out of all of Asia.”
Apart from criticising the amenities and the living conditions of locals in the city, he is also heard praising the people and calling them very friendly and welcoming. He said, “The people are super friendly I give them a lot of respect for that. Being smiley and friendly despite crazy living conditions.”
