Mumbai: Minor fire break out at third floor of  residential-cum-commercial building in Ghatkopar West. This incident occurred on January 20, 2026 morning around 10:22 am. While initially no injuries were reported from the site, Rajawadi Hospital later confirmed that three injured persons were admitted to its trauma ward.

According to report, incident occurred on the third floor of a ground-plus-three building located near Narayan Nagar close to Mahendra Hospital and the Union Bank building in Ghatkopar West. A Level-I fire was reported by the Mumbai Fire Brigade at 10:42 am. Fire brigade, police, Adani Electricity, ward staff, and a 108 ambulance responded and contained the blaze.

Three injured  individuals identified as Riyazuddin (30), with 60% burns, is in critical condition; Valayat Ali (50) and Haddis Ali (51) sustained 3% and 30% burns, respectively, and are stable. All are receiving treatment at Rajawadi Hospital. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Earlier, a private bus catches fire on the Western Express Highway in Malad. Intense flames and smoke surrounded the area and reached the merto line running overhead. This Incident occurred at  9:30 AM, while tourist bus was traveling from  Mumbai to Ujjain.

According to reports, fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit. Fortunately passengers managed to get out of the bus in time and no one was injured.
