A fire broke out at a residential apartment in Mumbai's Bandra on Sunday night, March 8. According to an X user, Bandra Buzz claimed the blaze erupted in the balcony of a 3rd-floor apartment at Nirmala Colony near the Mount Mary Steps.
The fire erupted at around 10 pm during India's ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 winning celebration in the area where firecrackers were being burst. According to eyewitness, a celebration rocket struck into the balcony of a residential building which caused blaze.

After receiving the calls from locals, the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) team reached the spot to douse the blaze. No injuries were reported in the incident, as the flat owners were said to be out at the time of the incident.
Confirming the fire incident, Maharashtra minister and BJP Bandra West MLA Ashish Shelar said, "Fire incident reported at Nirmala colony in Bandra West. Fire brigade , police on site & taking action." Shelar in a post on X said that he spoke to concerned authorities regarding the blaze and the situation is under control.
