Mumbai Local Train Accident: A youth fell into the Vaitarna riverbed in Palghar district of Maharashtra from a moving local train in Western line. Locals noticed and rescued him by using a fishing boat. According to information, the man identified as Udayan Wangad from Boisar was travelling in the Virar–Dahanu local train on the Western Railway.
Wangad fell directly into the Vaitarna riverbed when the train was crossing the bridge over the river between Safale and Vaitarna railway stations. The incident took place between 10 and 11 pm on Tuesday (February 10).
After railway employee Ramesh Singh noticed the youth falling from the train, he immediately informed a local, who called for help. Without any delay, local people and others took their boat into the river. Udayan managed to cling to a pillar of the railway bridge after falling into the river. The team reached to him by boat and pulled him out of the water.

A video shared on social media shows a dark night scene illuminated only by a torchlight, with a boat sailing through still water. A man can be heard shouting, “Kuthe aahe re? (Where are you?)” after which a voice responds from behind a bridge pillar. The people in the boat ask him if he is fine or if he has suffered any injuries. The man, wearing a white vest, then climbs onto the boat.
