Birthday Stunt Lands Goregaon Man in Trouble After Setting ‘33’ on Fire on Road for Viral Reel
A 33-year-old man from Goregaon was booked and arrested by Goregaon Police after he allegedly set fire to the number “33” drawn on a public road using petrol to celebrate his birthday and uploaded the video on social media, where it went viral.
The accused has been identified as Fahad Khalil Shamshuddin Sheikh, also known as a “Birdboy.”
According to police, on April 23 at around 11 pm, a vigilant citizen lodged a complaint through the Police Commissioner’s Twitter handle, stating that a man named Fahad Sheikh had poured petrol on the road near Ram Mandir Road, Sonani Gram, Goregaon, set it ablaze, recorded reels of the act, and uploaded them online.
Senior police officials took serious note of the complaint and ordered immediate action against the accused.
During investigation, police found that Fahad Sheikh had recently celebrated his 33rd birthday and had carried out the stunt to gain publicity. He allegedly drew the number “33” on the road, poured petrol over it, set it on fire, and recorded the incident before posting it on social media.
The video quickly went viral online.
Police registered a case against him for performing a reckless act on a public road by using an inflammable substance, thereby endangering human life and public safety, and creating the possibility of injury to others.
Following registration of the offence, Sheikh was arrested. However, he was later released after being given a stern warning and counselling.
Police said the investigation revealed that the act was committed solely for publicity on the occasion of his birthday.
