Panic gripped Mumbai’s Mahim area on Tuesday morning after a man entered a medical store, pointed an air gun at the chemist and threatened to kill him. Acting swiftly on the information, Mahim Police arrested the accused, identified as Saurabh Kumar Singh (35).

According to the police, the incident took place at Plus Medical, located in the Kapda Bazaar area of Mahim. The accused allegedly had an old dispute with the medical store owner, which led him to commit the act.

Police officials said that Singh entered the medical store in the morning hours with his face partially covered using a handkerchief. He allegedly threatened the chemist by pointing an air gun at him. The entire incident was captured on the CCTV cameras installed inside the shop.

Displaying presence of mind, the chemist remained calm and courageously managed to force the accused out of the store. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

During the investigation, it was revealed that there was a prior dispute between the accused and the chemist. Police said the act was committed with the intention to intimidate due to personal enmity. Based on the chemist’s complaint, a case was registered at Mahim Police Station.

The police later traced and arrested the accused and also seized the air gun used in the incident. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact motive and circumstances behind the act.
