Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik, and Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde, inaugurated Mumbai Metro Line 9 Phase 1 (Dahisar to Kashigaon) at Kashigaon Metro station in the Mira Bhayandar area on Tuesday, April 7.

The first phase of Mumbai Metro Line-9, with 4.7 km and includes four stations: Dahisar East, Pandurangwadi, Miragaon, and Kashigaon. This will connect Mira Road directly to Dahisar East, which will allow travel directly towards Andheri East and further to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport via Line-7A. The Metro Line-9 corridor is planned as a 10.5 km elevated route with 8 stations up to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Garden in Mira Bhayandar.

Who Will Be Benefited
Commuters from Mira-Bhayandar and Dahisar will get the most benefits. Passengers can interchange from Metro Line-7 and Line-2A at Dahisar East without exiting the station, and can travel up to Andheri East.
Commuters will get big relief from the most congested Dahisar Check Naka (toll plaza) traffic due to Metro Line-9. According to Mid-Day, about 30% motorist will prefer metro travel compared to a vehicle. Several commuters travelling through private vehicles such as car, can avoid paying toll tax at Dahisar.
