Mumbai: Mulund Biker Killed After Autorickshaw Driver Takes Sudden Wrong U-Turn on Highway

A shocking incident highlighting the dangers of reckless driving and traffic rule violations came to light in Mulund East, where a motorcyclist lost his life after an autorickshaw driver allegedly took a sudden wrong U-turn on a highway. Navghar Police have registered a case against an unidentified autorickshaw driver in connection with the incident.

According to information received, Mittal Patil (32) was travelling towards Thane on his motorcycle via the Airoli Bridge. Around 1:30 pm on Sunday, while passing through the Eastern Express Highway near Navghar Road in Mulund East, an autorickshaw driver allegedly took an illegal U-turn and abruptly cut across his path.

As a result, Patil lost control of his motorcycle, which skidded violently, throwing him onto the road. He suffered severe head injuries in the accident.

Following the incident, local residents and passing motorists rushed to help and immediately shifted the injured rider to Veer Savarkar Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead before treatment could begin.

Notably, the autorickshaw driver responsible for the accident fled the spot immediately after the crash.

The incident once again underlines the importance of following traffic rules on highways. Sudden wrong turns, illegal U-turns and reckless driving not only endanger the driver but also pose a serious threat to the lives of others. Police have urged citizens to exercise caution while driving on highways.
