In a heartbreaking incident reported from the Sakinaka area, an eight-year-old girl lost her life in a tragic road accident while returning home with her father on a two-wheeler. Sakinaka Police have registered a case against the driver of a Tata mixer vehicle and initiated further investigation.
According to information received, Mohammad Rafi Tajuddin Sheikh was travelling home on a motorcycle with his eight-year-old daughter, Ahana. The child had been staying with her aunt for the last four days. On Friday at around 5 pm, the father and daughter were travelling from Jarimari towards Sakinaka.
When they reached near Khanna Estate, close to Amber Hotel, the driver of a Tata mixer vehicle allegedly made a sudden and negligent turn towards the left side. As a result, the motorcycle lost balance and both father and daughter fell onto the road.
During the accident, Ahana fell on the right side and allegedly came under the rear wheel of the mixer vehicle, sustaining severe injuries.
After the accident, local residents immediately rushed to the spot and stopped the vehicle. Ahana was taken to Rajawadi Hospital in an injured condition, where doctors examined her and declared her dead.
Following the incident, a wave of grief spread across the area.
Sakinaka Police have registered a case against mixer vehicle driver Sirajul Koramuddin Islam (27) for causing death due to negligent driving. Further investigation is being carried out by Police Sub-Inspector Sunil Chavan.
