Mumbai Weather Update: City and Surrounding Districts Continue Under Yellow Alert
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast hot and humid weather conditions across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) districts even on Thursday, May 7. Yellow alert continues for Palghar, Thane, Mumbai and Raigad today.
According to the weather department, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius for the day. The IMD said Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad are likely to remain hot and humid over the next four days. Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg may also witness humid weather along with the possibility of light rain or thundershowers during the afternoon and evening hours.
Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) said hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets over Konkan-Goa. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, hail, light to moderate rain, gusty winds with speed 40-50 kmph, very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of South Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.

In Sindhudurg district, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, moderate rainfall and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph are expected on May 7 and May 8. Several districts in western Maharashtra, including Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Solapur, are likely to receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers between May 7 and May 9.
The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of up to 40-50 kmph in isolated areas of Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli and Solapur. The ghat regions of Pune, Satara and Kolhapur are also expected to witness thunderstorms and moderate rainfall during the forecast period.
Marathwada Districts Likely To Witness Thunderstorms
In Marathwada, districts including Latur, Dharashiv, Nanded and Beed are likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning, gusty winds and rainfall over the next three days.

The IMD said Latur and Dharashiv could witness thunderstorms with hail and wind speeds reaching 50-60 kmph on May 6. Light to moderate rain is also expected in some areas until May 9. Parbhani and Hingoli may receive light rain or thundershowers during the week.
Vidarbha To See Thunderstorms
Parts of Vidarbha, including Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia and Yavatmal, may witness isolated thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph on May 6. No major warning has been issued for Akola, Amaravati, Buldhana, Nagpur, Wardha and Washim for the coming days.
IMD Advisory for Residents and Farmers
The weather department has advised residents to avoid taking shelter under trees or weak structures during thunderstorms and to unplug electrical appliances during lightning activity. Farmers have been advised to harvest mature crops at the earliest, avoid irrigation and chemical spraying during thunderstorm activity, and store harvested produce safely to prevent damage from untimely rain. The IMD also warned of possible localised waterlogging, disruption to transport services and rough sea conditions along the Konkan coast during periods of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
