Congress candidate Gyanraj Yashwant Nikam won from Ward No. 223 Musafir Khana of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Mumbai. Nikam secured 8,508 votes, defeating Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) candidate Priya Rupesh Patil, who polled 8,041 votes.
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) candidate Prashant Gandhi received 1,560 votes, while Samajwadi Party candidate Afreen Javed Sheikh secured 3,384 votes. A total of 324 votes were cast in favour of NOTA.

A total of five candidates were in the fray in Ward No. 223. The candidates included Prashant Vijay Gandhi of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, Gyanraj Yashwant Nikam of the Congress, Priya Rupesh Patil of the Shiv Sena, Afreen Javed Sheikh of the Samajwadi Party, and independent candidate Zakir Hussain Musa.
With candidates from major political parties as well as an independent in the race, the contest in Ward No. 223 was closely fought, with keen interest in which way voters would lean.
