Saba Haroon Khan, daughter of Thackeray group MLA Haroon Khan from Versova, won from ward number 64 by 3,768 votes. She defeated BJP's Sarita Rajpure. Rajpure got 6,406 votes. Haroon Khan is a staunch Shiv Sena worker. He was the branch head for many years. In the last assembly elections, he defeated two-time BJP MLA Adv.
A total of 13 candidates were in the fray in Ward No. 64. The candidates included Faisal Qureshi of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Chandra Pawar) (NCP-SP), Saba Haroon Khan of the Shiv Sena UBT, Huda Adam Sheikh Khan of the Congress, Sarita Rajpure of BJP, and Sheila Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party.
The independent candidates in the ward were Varsha V. Kopargaonkar, Sharmila Pundalik Kharwilkar, Minal Ghagre, Monika Ravindra Jadhav, Geeta Anup Das, Sushma Deshmukh, Sangita Vijay Patil, and Nikita Nitin Mestri.
With candidates from major political parties and a large number of independents in the race, the contest in Ward No. 64 was expected to be closely fought, with keen interest in which way voters would lean.
