A shocking incident exposing strained marital relations has come to light from Pangdi village in Kalamb tehsil of Maharashtra’s Yavatmal district, where a woman and her alleged lover allegedly attempted to kill her husband by electrocuting him.

The accused woman and her alleged lover have been arrested by the police following the incident, which created panic in the area.

According to the complaint lodged by injured victim Gajanan More, his wife was allegedly involved in an illicit relationship with Vishnu Kadu Atram, a resident of the same village. Police said the duo allegedly conspired to eliminate Gajanan, who had become an obstacle in their relationship.

As per the complaint, the incident took place around 2 am on May 3, when Gajanan More was asleep at his residence. It is alleged that his wife connected an aluminium wire to an electric cable and passed current through his body in an attempt to kill him.

Gajanan woke up after receiving a severe electric shock and sustained burn injuries on the upper portions of both his hands.

After receiving information about the incident, Wadgaon Jungle Police rushed to the spot and seized electric wires and aluminium cables from the house as part of the investigation.

Following preliminary inquiry, police on May 8 arrested accused Kavadi More and her alleged lover Vishnu Atram under relevant sections 109(1) and 62(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Further investigation into the case is underway.
