Under operation 'crackdown' conducted by city police commissionerate, 5,382 criminals were identified and interrogated. The criminals who are undergoing trial for murder, attempt to murder, dacoity or attempt to dacoity, robbery were summoned in the respective police station and investigated. They were also warned that they should stay away from any unlawful activity. Around 4,876 criminals were called to police station, while 506 notorious criminals were summoned by Crime Branch. Preventive actions were taken against 1,521 criminals on police station level, while Crime Branch took action against 44 criminals.
