The district volleyball championship organised by Anand Nagar Sports Association under the auspices of Nagpur District Volleyball Association (NDVA) began on Thursday evening.

NMC women and child welfare committee chairperson Divya Dhurade, executive vice-president of Volleyball Federation of India Vijay Dangre were the guests on the occasion. Senior PI of Sakkardara police station Satyawan Mane, Dr Tale of Sheshrao Wankhede College, NDVA secretary Sunil Hande, vice-president PC Pant, Raju Dhoble and others were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Satyawan Mane urged the players to remain physical fit. He also gave some Corona tips to the players . Dr Tale guided the players on how to avail government jobs.Sunil Hande made introductory remarks whereas Sourabh Rokde conducted the proceedings. PS Pant proposed a vote of thanks.

In all 20 men and 8 women teams are participating in the tournament that will conclude on February 14. The matches will be played under the floodlights and for that two courts have been prepared. ANKM president Amey Dangre, Arvind Gawli, Sneha Rokde, Nilesh Matte, Dr Raju Raut, Diksha Dewadkar, Sneha , Savita Pilwatkar, Sagar Sagdeo, Pintu Chilkulwar, Bhavesh and others are working hard for the success of tournament.
