Grant Master (GM) Raunak Sadhwani emerged runners-up in Silver Lake 2021 Open Chess Tournament that concluded in Serbia on Wednesday.

Indians dominated the tournament as three players bagged first three places. GM Nihal Sarin earned the highest eight points to emerge winner. Sadhwani along with GM Abhimanyu Puranik and IM Makhnev Denis scored seven points each. However, on the basis of tie-breaker, Sadhwani was declared runners-up whereas Puranik and Denis achieved third and fourth place respectively.

In the ninth and last round,Sadhwani settled to a draw with IM Kourkoulos-Arditis Stamatis. On top board,Sadhwani's country mate Sarin defeated GM Damljanovic Branko whereas Puranik got the better of IM Radovanovic Nikola.
