Lokmat triumph for 10th time
In the final, Lokmat defeated Times of India by four wickets. The victory was powered by an impressive all-round performance from man-of- the match Sharad Mishra.
In the title clash, Times of India, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, were bowled out for just 114 runs in 19.2 overs. Amit Paunikar top-scored with 43 runs off 40 balls, hitting two fours and two sixes, while Sandeep Dabhekar contributed 14 runs.
For Lokmat, Sharad Mishra starred with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 24 runs, while Sachin Khadke and Nitin Pataria picked up two wickets each. Chasing a target of 115 runs, Lokmat comfortably reached 116/6 in 16.5 overs. Devendra Sadavarti remained unbeaten on 24 runs off 23 balls with two fours and a six. Sharad Mishra added 22 runs off 21 balls, while Nitin Shriwas scored 18 and Pataria contributed 12 runs. For Times of India, Amit Paunikar claimed two wickets.
The winners and runners-up were felicitated with trophies and cash prizes by dignitaries including director of Rokde Jewellers Paras Rokde, Director of Shalinatai Meghe Research Institute Dr. Anup Marar, and media manager of the Central Zone of Board of Control for Cricket in India Sharad Padhye. SJAN vice president Nilesh Deshpande, secretary Amit Sampat and treasurer Sujan Masid welcomed the guests. The programme was conducted by SJAN president Naresh Shelke.
