State govt is taking out vendetta: Patil
Nagpur, Nov 4
“The tri-party State government has been functioning in an adhoc manner with the prime objective of taking revenge from people, who talk against them may it be twitter user Sameet Thakkar or anchor Arnab Goswami. They just want to suppress the voices, which are raised against them,” said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Chandrakant Patil. He said that the wrongdoers must be punished. But it is not fair to treat them like terrorists or criminals. He said that people are done with the State government and are waiting for the election to be held.
Announcing an aggressive stand against the State government, Patil said that they will be working with black ribbons or caps and protesting the arrest of Goswami.
Talking to reporters during a press conference in city on Wednesday, he said unfortunately the issues which require attention from the State government are getting sidelined due to one or the other national happenings. There were floods in Vidarbha and soyabean and cotton crops were wiped out. The farmers suffered huge losses, but nothing has been given to them, except promises. People have received inflated electricity bills, but nothing has been done on that front.
During the Winter Session of the Assembly we will be raising these pertinent issues to corner the State government, Patil added.
He also objected to the election schedule announced for the Graduate and Teachers constituencies of the Legislative Council. He said that in view of the Covid crisis, it was expected that these elections would be held in March 2021. It was not expected that elections would be held so soon. The voter list is not even ready and we will be filing an affidavit in with the authority.
He also said that the proposed Metro car shed at Kanjurmarg will be detrimental for the environment, as it will destroy the salt pans and to normalise the salt pans, it will take lot of money and around two years and ultimately the state government will have to bear the cost of it, which will be recovered from the common masses at the end.
Protest against State govt
The BJP staged demonstrations against the arrest of anchor Arnab Goswami in the presence of state president Chandrakant Patil and general secretary Chandrashekhar Bawankule near Tilak Putla in the city. All the workers wore black mask and caps. BJP city president Pravin Datke and MLC Anil Sole were also present in the protest.
