Long distance runner from Chimur Vikram Bangeria won gold medal in 10,000 m in 60th National Athletics Championship at Patiala on Friday.

He clocked 30.16.44 minutes to secure first place. Bangeria who basically belongs to Chimur is nayak at signal corps battalion at Jabalpur.

Earlier in the Senior National Championship held at Delhi he won gold for Maharashtra in 5,000 m category. From 2008 to 2011 he trained under the guidance of noted coach from Police department Ravindra Tong at Reshimbagh ground. In the cross country race held at Chandigarh he bagged silver. Vikram is reaching Nagpur on Saturday and will leave for the Indian Army's training camp, informs Tong.
