50 people linked with Tablighi event quarantined in Jharkhand

Nearly 50 people found in mosques or other places in groups in Jharkhand have been sent to quarantine on Wednesday, police said.

Ranchi, April 1 Nearly 50 people found in mosques or other places in groups in Jharkhand have been sent to quarantine on Wednesday, police said.

According to police, 10 Indones found at the Asanbani mosque in Gobindpur police station area of Dhanbad district have been quarantined. They all had come for the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi and later reached here.

Fourteen community members in a mosque at Chandrapur of BOkaro district and 15 people aat Jalwabud mosque of Koderma were also quarantined.

They belong to West Bengal and participated in the Tablighi Jamaat event. They were living in Koderma in a mosque for last two seeks.

Ten Muslims, mostly belonging to foreign countries, were found in a mosque situated at Pithoria and also quarantined.

On Monday, 24 people, including 19 belonging to foreign countries, found in a Ranchi mosque were quarantined. One woman belonging to Malaysia was found cornornavirus positive.

On Wednesday, more than 25 people who were reportedly in touch with the Malaysian woman found positive.
