Chinese Manja Claims Life of 5-Year-Old Girl in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Telangana (January 26, 2026): A five-year-old girl died on Sunday evening after a Chinese manja (glass-coated kite string) became entangled around her neck while she was riding a motorcycle with her family, police said.

According to KPHB police, Premsagar, a resident of Gokul Plots, KPHB, was returning home from Khazipally village around 5 p.m. when his younger daughter, seated in front, began crying in pain. The father noticed severe bleeding from the girl’s neck.

The parents removed the thread and rushed her to a nearby hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries despite medical treatment, KPHB police said.
