COVID recovered patients contracting TB in Madhya Pradesh

Patients who have recovered from the Coronavirus infection may have to deal with discomfort or other side effects for some time. However, now a serious side effect has been noticed. In Madhya Pradesh, many patients who have recovered from coronavirus have been diagnosed with Tuberculosis (TB). This has raised the concern of the administration. In Madhya Pradesh, the number of TB patients has increased.

Most of the patients had been infected with the coronavirus before. Covid-19 is a viral disease, while TB is caused by a bacterial infection. Both diseases affect the lungs and respiratory system of patients.In the outpatient department of Hamidia Hospital, Bhopal every day, 10 to 12 patients are diagnosed with TB. In the last few days, many patients diagnosed with TB have been found dead in the government's TB hospital.

Dr Lakendra Dave said it is not yet clear whether Coronavirus infection and its treatment had anything to do with TB infection. Experts say fungal infections and TB cases have increased during the second wave of coronavirus. However, most TB patients are recovering well.
