Delhi Fire: 3, Including Child, Dead as Massive Blaze Erupts in Multiple Jhuggis in Rohini

At least three, including a toddler, were dead in a massive fire that broke out in multiple jhuggis in Delhi's Rohini area in the early hours of Wednesday, April 15. Firefighters from the nearby area brought the blaze under control.

The bodies of three, identified as husband, wife, and their 2-year-old child sent for the post-mortem. An eyewitness said that the fire broke out at around 1 am. He said that the cause of the blaze is still not clear.

A relative of the deceased said that the whole family was charred to death after fire broke out in at least 4 jhuggis. "The incident occurred between 12:30 and 1:00 AM. The cause of the fire is not yet known. However, CCTV cameras are installed in all directions, and the investigation will determine how the incident occurred," he added.

The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received a distress call at around 1.35 am caller claiming flames engulfed several jhuggis in the area. The fire spread due to burning materials like plastic, leaving less time to react. 

Seven fire vehicles reached the spot, and firefighters took nearly 3 hours to bring down the flames at around 4.30 am. The deceased were identified as Mohammad Musibur (27), his wife Munara (24), and their daughter Mahi Mona (3).
