A fire broke out in a factory in the Shakurpur Basti area near Punjabi Bagh in Delhi on Thursday night, April 24, reported the news agency IANS. The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received a call about the blaze at around 11:15 pm.

According to DFS, 16 fire tenders were deployed to the spot, and the fire was brought under control after nearly 90 minutes of firefighting operations. No immediate details of major structural damage to the factory were available.

The fire engulfed jhuggis in Shakurpur Basti, leading to the destruction of several huts. However, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

Residents in the area reported significant losses. One local resident said he returned from work to find his home destroyed. “I had gone out for work. When I returned, everything had been burnt to ashes. Now I will have to sleep on the ground. Nothing is left,” he said.
