Three members of a family were found dead at their residence in Delhi’s Kalkaji area on Thursday afternoon, police said. The incident was reported from House No. G-70B, Kalkaji, following a PCR call received at around 2:47 pm.

According to Delhi Police, the deceased have been identified as Anuradha Kapoor (52) and her two sons, Ashish Kapoor (32) and Chaitanya Kapoor (27). Preliminary investigation suggests that the deaths were the result of an alleged suicide.

Police officials stated that a note was recovered from the spot, indicating that the family had been suffering from depression, which may have led them to take the extreme step. However, authorities clarified that the matter is still under investigation and all aspects are being examined.

The bodies have been shifted to the AIIMS mortuary for post-mortem examination. Further proceedings are being carried out under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

A senior police official said that forensic teams inspected the scene, and statements from neighbours and relatives are being recorded to ascertain the circumstances leading up to the incident.

The incident has left the neighbourhood in shock, with residents describing the family as quiet and reserved. Police have assured that more details will be shared once the investigation progresses.
