Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 29 : The Dharma Dhwaj will be hoisted atop the Shiva Temple within the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi Temple complex on Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said.
In an X post, CM Yogi called the flag-hoisting ceremony a "powerful symbol of eternal faith, self-confidence, and cultural consciousness."
"Today, in the beloved city of the epitome of righteousness, Lord Shri RamShri Ayodhya Dhamthe sacred ritual of hoisting the Dharma Dhwaj (Flag of the Dharma) will be performed on the pinnacle of the consecrated Shiva temple within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple complex. This flag-hoisting ceremony, a powerful symbol of eternal faith, self-confidence, and cultural consciousness, binds our heritage, faith, and resolve into a single thread," the Chief Minister wrote.
Earlier on April 11, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the temple of Lord Ganesh, located within the premises of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. The ceremony was jointly carried out by key officials responsible for construction and security.
According to the temple trust, L&T Project Director Vinod Mehta, Sujit Das Saha, Ramesh Kumar from Tata Group, Project Director Vinod Shukla, SP Security Balramachari, and Vinay Singh took part in the ceremony.
General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai, Trustee Anil Mishra, Gopal Nagarkatte, associated with management, and several other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
On November 25 last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat ceremonially hoisted the saffron flag atop the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple's 191-foot-high shikhar in Ayodhya, symbolising the completion of the temple's construction.
The 'Dharma Dhwaj' carried three sacred symbols, Om, the Sun and the Kovidara tree, each representing profound spiritual values rooted in the Sanatan tradition. The right-angled triangular flag measured 10 feet in height and 20 feet in length.
