Four persons of a family were found murdered on Thursday afternoon in Preetam Nagar in Dhoomanganj area in Prayagraj.

The deceased include Tulsiram, 64, his wife Kiran, 60, daughter Niharika, 30, and daughter-in-law Priyanka, 25.

According to reports, Tulsiram owned a electronic gadgets' shop.

His son Aatish had gone out of the house on Thursday afternoon for some work.

When he returned, he screamed on seeing the blood-smeared bodies of his father, mother sister and wife.

Hearing his screams, a large crowd gathered at the house and the police were informed.

Senior police officers reached the spot and a dog squad that was called in, went to about 200 metres from the house and then lost the scent.

A forensic team was also called in and the bodies were sent for post-mortem.

All four had been killed by slitting their throats.

SP City Brijesh Srivastava said that the motive behind the murders is not yet clear.

"We are scanning the CCTV cameras and several teams have been formed to unravel the reason behind the murders and arrest the accused," he said.
