Gujarat Tragedy: Man Drowns After Falling into Swimming Pool in Rajkot; CCTV Captures Moments Before Incident

Gujarat: A 33-year-old man lost his life in a swimming pool by drowning in Rajkot district on Sunday April 19, 2026. This accident occurred at Heaven Resort in Kagvad where deceased Ajay Rathoda visited the resort with his family for to enjoy. This incident occurred at around at 4 pm, Ajay was filmed sitting at the edge of a pool, surrounded by what appeared to be family members, and completely wet.

Moments after standing, he paused, lost consciousness, and fell into the water. The cause of his sudden unconsciousness is unknown, but a medical emergency is suspected. Despite onlookers being present, no one aided Ajay as he drowned in the pool. Instead, they ignored his plight, which ultimately led to his death.

Police have launched an investigation, and CCTV footage from the resort will be used as evidence.

In Gumla district where two teenage girl drowned while bathing in river. This tragedy occurred on Thursday April 16 at around 10:30 am in thee Basia police station area. According to PTI reports, six girls of Shanichar Tola went to Chutia river. The two girls went into deep water and started drowning. 

Locals immediately jumped into water to rescue girls. Following the incident girls were taken to the Referral Hospital in Basia, but doctors declared them dead," he added. The deceased were identified as Kajal Kumari and Deep Shikha Kumari, police said. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to the Gumla Sadar Hospital, they said.
