Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Sunday said the state government is mulling imposing COVID cess on liquor to support social initiatives hit by COVID-19 pandemic.

Chautala, who holds the portfolios of Excise, said the cess could be anywhere between Rs 2 and Rs 20 a bottle.

"It is under consideration to impose cess on the quality and quantity," Chautala added.
