India is likely to get another good news soon as Bharat Biotech will soon start trials of nasal Covid-19 vaccine in the country. The Indian vaccine maker will begin it's first and second phase of 'nasal spray' in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

According to Bharat Biotech head Dr Krishna Ella, his company has an agreement with the University of Washington. We are working on a single dose vaccine compare to two-dose inactivated vaccine. Two doses of corona vaccine will have to be taken. But the nasal vaccine should be given only once. Therefore, it is said to be a better option than vaccine.

According to Dr Chandrasekhar, testing of Nasal Covaxin will begin in the next two weeks. He also said that there was evidence that nasal vaccines were better than injectable vaccines. Bharat Biotech will soon submit a test proposal to DGCI.

Preliminary information has come to light that testing of the vaccine will begin in Bhubaneswar, Nagpur, Pune and Hyderabad. For this 40 to 45 volunteers between the ages of 18 to 65 will be selected.

Presently, Bharat Biotech is working on two intranasal vaccines -- one with US-based vaccine maker FluGen and scientists from the University of Wisconsin Madison and the other with the University of Washington School of Medicine.
