Jaipur Traffic Update: Police Issue Advisory for Ram Navami Shobha Yatra; Check Alternate Routes

Ram Navami is being celebrated with great enthusiasm in Rajasthan’s Jaipur on March 26 and 27. On March 26, two major Ram Navami Shobha Yatra (processions) will be taken out across the pink city. The first and most prominent procession will begin from Surajpol Grain Market and proceed to the historic Shri Ram Temple at Chandpole. It will feature over 35 live and electric tableaux depicting scenes from the Ramcharitmanas. The procession will also include a royal entourage of elephants, horses and camels, along with performances by renowned drummers from Nashik.

Another procession, starting from Jacob Road, will pass through Hasanpura and Shyam Nagar before reaching the Harihar Temple. In a gesture of communal harmony, members of the Muslim community will welcome devotees with a shower of flowers.

In the walled city area, the procession will showcase tableaux of Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata and Shatrughna. Other attractions include tableaux of JK Lone Ganesha, Veer Hanuman, Vaishno Devi and Hanumanji of Neeli Haveli. Specially designed electric tableaux, such as Lord Shiva dancing on his palm and Lord Ram in a cradle, are expected to draw large crowds.

Welcome platforms have been set upssssss along the route, where aarti and flower showers will be performed. The celebrations will conclude with a grand aarti at the Shri Ramchandraji Temple in Chandpol at around 10:30 pm.

Traffic Diversions

Jaipur Traffic Police has implemented extensive traffic changes due to the processions. Entry of vehicles will be prohibited on major roads in the walled city from 2 pm to midnight. City buses will be allowed via Galta Gate, Ghat Gate, Sanganeri Gate and Ajmeri Gate, while mini-buses and tempos will not be permitted. Parking will also be strictly prohibited along the procession routes.

Traffic from Galta Gate towards Ramganj Chowpatty will be diverted to Delhi Road, while vehicles heading to Ramganj Chowpatty will be rerouted via Char Darwaja and Ghat Gate towards Gurudwara Mor.

Roads leading to Bapu Bazaar and New Gate may also be closed as required. Traffic towards Tripolia Gate and Chhoti Chaupar will be diverted through alternate routes.

Emergency services, including ambulances and fire brigade vehicles, will be given priority and kept clear of congestion. Authorities have urged citizens to use outer roads instead of routes through the walled city to avoid inconvenience. Additional security personnel have been deployed in sensitive areas to maintain law and order.
