Jeans, T-shirts, sports shoes not allowed!; New rules by new director for CBI officers

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials will no longer be allowed to wear jeans, T-shirts and sports shoes while on duty. Newly elected CBI Director Subodh Kumar Jaiswal has made significant changes in the uniforms of officers and staff of the department. Officers and staff working in the CBI should wear formal attire while on duty, now jeans, T-shirts and sports shoes will not be allowed in the office, Subodh Kumar Jaiswal has ordered.

A circular approved by Subodh Kumar Jaiswal has been issued by Assistant Director (Administration) Anoop T Mathew. CBI officials and staff will no longer be allowed to enter the office wearing jeans, T-shirts, sports shoes or slippers. Male CBI officials will be required to wear formal shirt-pants and formal shoes. At the same time, officers will not be able to grow beards. Women officers and employees have been ordered to wear only sarees or formal shirts while on duty.

Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, a 1985 batch IPS officer, has taken over as the 33rd Director of CBI. He has been appointed as the Director of CBI for two years. After the term of Rishi Kumar Shukla came to an end on February 3, Subodh Kumar was made the Director of CBI. A three-member selection committee headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had approved the name of Subodh Kumar Jaiswal. It is said that Subodh Kumar intends to make some more important changes in the CBI in the near future.
