The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released a roster of 40 prominent campaigners for Delhi, including prominent figures such as Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and his wife Sunita Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, as well as party leaders Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, MPs Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha. The lineup also features Delhi ministers Gopal Rai, Atishi, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Kailash Gahlot, and Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi, among others, who will spearhead the campaign efforts.

The arrest of Chief Minister Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, in connection to a Delhi excise policy money laundering case, has sent shockwaves across the political landscape. With Kejriwal currently in judicial custody at Tihar jail, his absence significantly impacts the AAP's planning and strategy for the imminent Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat.

The Supreme Court on Friday, May 3 heard Delhi Chief and AAP leader Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea, challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. While hearing, the apex court said that it would consider granting interim bail to jailed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in view of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2024.

A bench comprising Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta noted that the hearing in the plea filed by Kejriwal challenging his arrest by the ED in the Delhi excise policy case could drag on, in which case it would consider the question of interim bail.
