Mumbai, April 18 Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday directed the relevant departments and agencies to provide land for these projects within a stipulated timeframe, noting that several prestigious international universities have expressed keen interest in establishing their campuses here. ​

Through Educity and Medicity, students in Maharashtra will have access to higher education opportunities from world-class universities. ​

He was speaking at the meeting on the development of the upcoming Educity and Medicity.​

Fadnavis stated that these hubs will bring global academic standards to local students. He instructed agencies to expedite the process to accommodate the interested international institutions.​

“Educity and Medicity will be developed near the Navi Mumbai International Airport. The City and Industrial Development Corporation has commenced land acquisition, and the blueprint for Medicity is ready. The arrival of leading global universities is expected to boost quality education, increase the number of startups, and provide a significant push to research across various sectors,” he noted.​

In another meeting, Fadnavis directed the administration to use Artificial Intelligence to manage power generation and ensure an uninterrupted supply. ​

He was speaking at the meeting regarding “Peak Demand” during the summer season.​

The Chief Minister emphasised that in light of the summer and the upcoming monsoon, all necessary measures must be taken on a war footing. ​

He gave instructions to use Artificial Intelligence for system management, maintenance, and repair work.​

The energy department informed that rooftop solar energy is proving beneficial. ​

Currently, there is sufficient availability of coal and water for power generation. All necessary measures have been implemented to maintain a smooth supply. ​

Pre-monsoon maintenance is underway, and the system is fully prepared to handle any emergency situations.​
