A student from Maharashtra died and another remained missing after entering the sea at Golden Beach. According to the reports, a group of 26 students had gone to the beach for a stroll, and only three entered the water before the incident occurred.
Mayuri Chaudhary, a resident of Bhandara district, died in the incident. Another student, Jai Patil, who also entered the water, remains missing. Local authorities have launched an intensive search operation. A third student, Raj Kedari, was rescued and is reported to be in stable condition.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis contacted the Tamil Nadu government soon after learning about the incident, according to the CMO statement. He is monitoring the rescue operations and has requested authorities to expedite efforts to trace the missing student. Fadnavis expressed grief over Chaudhary’s death and extended condolences to her family. The Maharashtra government is in contact with the affected families and has assured them of all possible assistance.
