A non-bailable warrant for breach of the model code of conduct last year at national elections has been issued against veteran actor and leader of the BJP, Jaya Prada, by the Uttar Pradesh court.

During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections the case was filed over the breach of the model code of conduct against the 57-year-old BJP member.

The next trial is on April 20. 

Azam Khan from the Samajwadi Party by more than a lakh votes had defeated Jaya Prada from the Rampur parliamentary constituency in the general elections.
