The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for airports as part of preparations for the recommencement of domestic commercial flight operations from May 25. Here is a list of guidelines issued by AAI and the ministry or passengers and airport staff.
Passengers should reach the airport two hours before the scheduled time of departure and passengers who have departed in the next four hours will only be allowed to enter the Terminal Building.
Wearing of protective gear, such as mask, gloves, is compulsory for all passengers.
All the departing passengers must be compulsorily be registered with 'Aarogya Setu' App.
The app is, however, not mandatory for children below the age of 14 years.
Passengers with red status in Aarogya Setu App would not be allowed to travel.
The passengers will be required to compulsorily walk through screening zone for thermal screening at a designated place in the city side before entering the terminal building.
On the day of commencement of flights, only limited operations about 1/3rd) would be permitted. Further augmentation of flight will be done in a caliberated manner.
People, such as very elderly, pregnant ladies, passengers with health issues are advised not to travel.
No physical check-in at airport counters would be done. Only those passengers with confirmed web check-in shall be allowed to enter the airport.
Airlines should adhere to the upper and lowed limits of fares presribed by the ministry.
The airlines will not provide meal services on board.
The cabin crew are required to be in full protective gear.
Only one check-in bag will be allowed.
Use of baggae and trolleys should be minimized.
Airport operators must make appropriate arrangements for sanitisation of a passenger's baggage before his or her entry into the terminal building.
The state governments and local administration shall ensure the availability of proper public transport and private taxies for providing connectivity for passengers and airport staff.
Kerb area/city-side traffic/car parking area will be strictly monitored in coordination with traffic police /CISF staff to prevent congestion and to maintain social distancing.
For commuting to and from the airport, both by staff and passengers, only the personal vehicles or select authorised taxi service/transport services with restricted seating to be permitted.
Hand sanitizer shall be made available airport operator for passengers and airport staff at various locations.
All F&B and retail outlets to be opened with Covid-19 precautions. Take-away to be encouraged to prevent crowding. Promote digital payment system, self-ordering booths at F&B and retail outlets.
