Karwachauth one of the most awaited Hindu festival is celebrated among married women. On this auspicious day women keep 'nirjala'  fast which means they cannot even have water till moonrise. This fast is actually observed by married women for the safety and long healthy life of their better halves. Although this festival is celebrated mainly in the northern states of India, Bollywood has made it popular across the world.
