Uttar Pradesh Tragedy: Lineman Dies of Electrocution During Repair Work in Ballia

Uttar Pradesh: A tragic incident occurred in Khejuri area, where a 33-year-old lineman died after being electrocuted while carrying out repair work at a village. This incident occurred on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 around 7pm. 

The incident occurred at the Ratsar power substation in the Khejuri area. According to police, Hriday Narayan Yadav, deployed on a contractual basis, had taken a proper shutdown from the substation around 7 pm on Wednesday and began fixing a power fault in the village.

In Pune young man who had gone to the Ghod River to start a water pump died after coming into contact with a live wire of an electricity pole. The deceased has been identified as Chandrakant Maruti Pingle (age 34). The incident occurred at 11 AM on the banks of the Ghod River near Shri Kshetra Vadgaon Kashimbeg.

Chandrakant Pingle, who worked at Shri Kulswami Patasanstha, also cultivated his family's farm. Water was supplied to the fields in Pingle Mala from the Ghod River using an electric pump. Since it was Sunday, he went to the riverbank at 10:30 AM to start the pump. Vilas Borade and other farmers were also present there at the time.

While starting the pump, he went towards the riverbank and was electrocuted by a live wire of an electricity pole. The shock threw him into the water of the Kolhapur-type weir on the Ghod River.
