The Uttarakhand government on Thursday scrapped the compulsion of a BEd degree for candidates of art subjects for recruitment to Licentiate Teaching (LT) posts in the state's Education Department.

Education Secretary RM Sundram has issued a notification to this effect after the approval of the Governor.
