An official saved Norma Dumont from an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction on Saturday at UFC Vegas 15. The video which has now gone viral shows, the refree stepping when he realises that Norma is about to lose grip of her outfit. However, after the small blip, Dumont had Evans-Smith on her back against the cage during the final round of their bantamweight fight on Saturday night. Dumont put the gaffe behind her to beat Ashlee Evans-Smith by unanimous decision in her first fight since February.
She won 30-26 on all three scorecards to improve her record to 5-1 having been favourite before the bout. Brazilian born Dumont made her MMA debut in 2016 and last night's win was her sixth pro bout. It was the second time she'd fought on a UFC card having lost to Megan Anderson earlier this year. Saturday's bout was part of the UFC Vegas 15 card on Saturday night that took place at the promotion's Apex base.Evans-Smith was the favorite entering the fight, despite a layoff of nearly two years. She held center early, looking to close the distance and get her hands on Brazil’s Dumont. Norma Dumont, however, had some dangerous kicks and counters that forced Evans-Smith to halt her momentum more than once.
