Satish Kaushik’s untimely demise has shocked the entire nation. The ace actor-director passed away on March 8 after suffering from a heart attack

He was 66 and is now survived by his wife Shahi Kaushik and his 10-year-old daughter Vanshika. Satish Kaushik's death has come as a shock to his fans and industry friends. His best friend and veteran actor Anupam Kher is heartbroken and claims that it will be difficult for him to overcome this loss.

But, did you know that Satish Kaushik also shared a very deep friendship with Neena Gupta. The two were such good friends that Kaushik had even offered to marry Gupta, when she was pregnant with Masaba, leaving the actress to tears.

Neena Gupta, in her autobiography Sach Kahun Toh, has spoken at length about her friendship with Satish Kaushik. He would even come to her residence on a scooter to pick her up when they had been shooting together. When Gupta was pregnant with Masaba, it was Satish Kaushik who has said that they could get married and say that Neena was their daughter. Gupta had mentioned in her book, "Don’t worry, if the child is born with dark skin, you can just say it’s mine and we’ll get married. Nobody will suspect a thing."

Kaushik later reacted to it as well and had revealed that he did not want Neena to feel alone. In an earlier interview, he had said, “I used to appreciate the fact that a girl at that time decided to have a child out of wedlock. As a true friend, I simply stood by her and gave her confidence. Whatever you are reading in the memoir, it was all an expression of my affection for her as a friend. I was concerned about not letting her feel alone. At the end of the day, that’s what friends are for, right? As mentioned in the book, when I offered to marry her, it was a mix of humour, concern, respect, and support for my best friend in her time of need.

His gesture also moved Neena to tears. He had further revealed, “I told her, ‘Main hoon na, tu chinta kyu karti hai?’ She was moved by the gesture and was in tears. From that day onwards, our friendship grew stronger. I am happy and proud that she is doing so well as an actor. She is a symbol of a strong woman in our society. She is now happily married to a great guy and a successful entrepreneur, Vivek Mehra and he is a great friend, too.”

Satish Kaushik passed away at the age of 66. It was his friend and actor, Anupam Kher, who revealed the news with a tweet which read, "I know "death is the ultimate truth of this world!" But I never thought in my dreams that I would write this thing about my best friend #SatishKaushik while alive. Such a sudden full stop on a friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH! Om Shanti!" He also revealed that Kaushik 'felt uneasy and he told the driver to take him to the hospital and on the way he suffered a heart attack around 1 am'.
